Yes. We welcome applications from first-year, transfer, and second-bachelor degree students.
Please Note: There is no accelerated option for second-degree students. All students follow the same curriculum.
Begin by applying to ºÚÁÏÀÏ˾»ú. Most students enter as Intended Nursing Majors (Pre-Nursing). First-year applicants who meet additional criteria may be considered for direct admission to the BSN program when they apply to the college.
If you are selected for direct admission, your admission letter will clearly state that you have been selected for admission to ºÚÁÏÀÏ˾»ú’s Direct Admit Nursing Program.
Direct Admission students must complete all prerequisites, maintain a 3.5 cumulative GPA and a 3.0 cognate GPA in BIOL 201/202, BIOL, 203/204, CHEM 121, and PSYC 230, repeat no more than one required course, and meet all health, background screening, and clinical compliance requirements.
Upon completion of these requirements, student complete the same secondary application process as outlined above. Student’s applications will be reviewed to verify student’s direct admission status and achievement of the required direct admission retention requirements. If these requirements are met, students will be guaranteed a seat in the BSN program.
Please Note: Direct Admission students who do not meet these requirements may still apply through the secondary application process for Intended Nursing Majors.
Students may submit a secondary application for BSN admission after completing all prerequisite courses (or concurrently enrolling in them) and meeting all application requirements. Applications must be signed by the academic advisor and submitted by the published deadline.
Students must have a 3.0 overall GPA, earn a grade of C or better in BIOL 201/202, BIOL 203/204, CHEM 121, and PSYC 230, and maintain a 2.67 GPA in these courses at the time of application and the end of the semester.
No. Admission is competitive and depends on the size and strength of the applicant pool in each cycle.
Yes. Repeating one cognate course generally does not affect admission decisions, but repeating multiple cognate courses may make an application less competitive and can delay graduation.
Up to 80 students are admitted in Fall and up to 80 in Spring, for a total of up to 160 students per year.
Yes. Students may apply up to three times. Students who plan to reapply are encouraged to explore related coursework that supports academic progress and career options in other health professions.
Once admitted, students complete six semesters of nursing coursework, typically over three years of full-time study.
