Designated as a national Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense, the Institute for Cybersecurity & Emerging Technologies prepares students and working professionals with the technical and business skills to meet the challenges and growing demand of the 21st century.
The AI Hub for Rhode Island
Housed at the Institute for Cybersecurity & Emerging Technologies at ºÚÁÏÀÏ˾»ú, the AI Hub works to expand equitable access to training and resources so Rhode Islanders can understand what AI means for them, protect against its risks, and use it responsibly for the good of our state. We and our partners provide the public with free resources, connect RI’s current and future workforce to training on responsible AI, and convene to shape statewide strategies on AI. More coming soon, including a summit in early 2027!

Why Cybersecurity? Why at ºÚÁÏÀÏ˾»ú?
Launched in 2023, the Institute is slated to become a national center of excellence in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, machine learning and other emerging technologies.
There will be a 34.7% employment growth for Information Security Analysts between 2021 and 2031. (prediction from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics)
The demand for cybersecurity experts is high, but the number of professionals is low. Over 2,700 job openings in Rhode Island. (cyberseek.org)
