ºÚÁÏÀÏ˾»ú's Master of Education degree in Health Education prepares professionals to:

  • Graduates demonstrate mastery of health education and health promotion knowledge and skills needed to carry out initiatives that address local, state, national and global health needs, and are grounded in cultural responsiveness.
  • Graduates learn how structural bias, social determinants of health, social inequities, low health literacy and racism impact health and create barriers for achieving health equity on many levels.
  • Graduates apply evidence-based and evidence-informed research findings and inquiry methodologies to assess population needs, assets and capacities that affect a communities’ health and create, design, implement, and evaluate culturally responsive health education or health promotion efforts.
  • Graduates complete a capstone project that embeds discovery and application of knowledge in health education and health promotion.
  • Graduates exemplify the dispositions, and discipline knowledge and skills for professional careers as health education specialists.
  • Graduates demonstrate reflective practice, grounded in multicultural competence.
  • Graduates demonstrate public health practice, embedded in professional standards, that is inclusive, and engage diverse publics, communities or stakeholders in decision making.
